WARRENSBURG, Mo - - A pair of quick goals by Central Missouri's Becky Lackey held up for the No. 25 Jennies, as the Truman women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at UCM on Saturday evening.
The Bulldogs (1-3-2) took just five shots in the contest, which saw UCM (5-1) on the high side of a 2-0 score just 13 minutes in, as Lackey connected twice early to put Truman in an early hole.
Juniors Olivia Hayes and Kelsey Twellman got credited for a pair of shots each, while Jayne Grisham and Emily Bozdeck split the halves in net.
The match, which did not count towards the MIAA standings, was the first of two meetings between the two squads this season, with the second coming on the final day of the regular season – Oct. 29 – in Kirksville.
Truman returns to action this Thursday with a trip to Joplin for a 7pm match against Missouri Southern.
