Women's Soccer Earns 10th Win with 2-0 Shutout

TOPEKA, Kan. - - Two first-time goal scorers in 2012 – freshman Megan Frkovic and junior Kelsey Ridgway – found pay-dirt and helped the Truman women's soccer team earn a 2-0 road win at Washburn on Friday night.
 
Frkovic (St. Charles, Mo., Francis Howell North) tallied her first collegiate goal in the 48th minute, turning a bad clear by the Washburn defense into a 1-0 Bulldog lead after scoring from 15-yards out. Then, in the 75thRidgway (West Des Moines, Iowa, Dowling Catholic) added a bit of insurance by scoring from 10 yards out to give Truman a 2-0 road victory.
 
The Bulldogs (10-2-1, 6-1 MIAA) out-shot WU (3-10, 3-5 MIAA) 11-9 on the night, as keeper Emily Bozdeck (St. Louis, Mo., Lindbergh) earned her ninth shutout of the season by making six saves between the pipes.
 
Truman returns to action this Sunday at noon when it visits Emporia State.
