BOLIVAR, Mo. - - Lauren Seawright came through with a game-tying goal in the 55th-minute, and a gifted own-goal came through in the nick of time as the Truman women's soccer team snapped a three-match losing streak with a 2-1 road win in the regular season finale at Southwest Baptist on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (12-5-1, 8-4 MIAA) needed at least a point to secure a home MIAA quarterfinal match and fell behind in the 36th minute when SBU's Ashley Creason headed in a cross to put the purple Bearcats ahead 1-0.

Truman found the equalizer in the 55th minute, as central defender Seawright (Chesterton, Ind., Chesterton) tapped home a Kelsey Twellman (St. Louis, Mo., Incarnate Word Academy) cross to knot the match at 1-1. Despite controlling the overall shots and finishing with a 21-12 advantage, the Bulldogs seemed destined for overtime until with just 2:09 on the clock, a scrum in the box resulted in a bouncing ball hitting a Bearcat defender and going in, giving the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead.

With the win, the Bulldogs locked up the No. 3 seed in the upcoming MIAA tournament, booking a home date with sixth-seeded Fort Hays State on Tuesday (Oct. 30) at 2:00 pm in Kirksville. Keeper Emily Bozdeck (St. Louis, Mo., Lindbergh) made four saves in net, earning her 12th win of the season between the pipes, with Twellman leading the Bulldog offense with eight shots.

The Bulldogs and Tigers will meet for the second time in just 12 days, as FHSU defeated Truman 2-1 on a rainy Friday, Oct. 18 in Kirksville.
