Box Score || Season Stats
OLATHE, Kan. - - The Truman men's soccer team came up just short against the Central region's top-ranked team on Thursday night, dropping a 2-0 decision in the MIAA tournament semifinals to Northeastern (Okla.) State.

The Bulldogs took 11 shots but were only able to put two on net in the first of two semifinal contests at the Olathe District Activities Center, as NSU used goals in the 64th and 88th minutes to advance to the conference championship against Lindenwood on Saturday.

Truman fended off a flurry of Riverhawk attacks in the first half, as sophomore goalkeeper Drew Garrone made six saves. The Bulldogs held NSU for nearly the first 20 minutes of the second half before Juan Peralta found Jordan Schmoker at the top of the 18-yard box for a shot low left and a 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs then controlled possession for the next 20 minutes, firing four shots and earning a pair of corner kicks before the Riverhawks delivered the final dagger with a breakaway goal with 2:51 to play.

Senior Charlie Backus led all Bulldogs with three shots, as he was one of six starters to go all 90 minutes for the purple and white. Garrone finished the evening with seven saves.
