Game 1 Box Score | Game 2 Box Score | Season Statistics
JOPLIN, Mo. - - Laura Miller had a combined four hits, and Kelsey Bollman knocked in three RBIs, but the Truman softball team fell 4-3 and 7-2 in a Monday afternoon matinee doubleheader at Missouri Southern.

The Bulldogs (12-19, 1-9 MIAA) will step out of conference play on Tuesday afternoon when they host GLVC opponent and in-state rival William Jewell College at 2:00 pm at the Bulldog Softball Park in Kirksville.

Bollman (Maquoketa, Iowa, Maquoketa) delivered a two-out, two-RBI double in the third inning of game one to give Truman a brief lead, but the Lions got one back in their half before tacking on two more in the fifth for a 4-2 edge. After a Bridget Schade (Herculaneum, Mo., Herculaneum) RBI plated pinch-hitter Ally McReynolds (Wildwood, Mo., Eureka) in the top of the seventh, the Bulldogs couldn't get the tying run across home. The 'Dogs had just four hits in support of Kelsea Dorsey (Clarksville, Mo., Clopton), who tossed a complete game and striking out three.

The Lions (12-17, 4-0 MIAA) used a three-run first inning to build an early lead, and, after the 'Dogs cut the deficit to 4-2 with a Liz Leath (St. Charles, Mo., Francis Howell Central) fourth-inning RBI and a Bollman RBI double in the fifth, tacked on three more in the fifth to lead 7-2. Miller (Columbia, Mo., Hickman) had three hits in four at-bats in the leadoff spot, as Kirsten Krause (St. Louis, Mo., Parkway North) started and pitched five innings.
