KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Truman State softball head coach Ron Ferrill has announced the addition of seven student-athletes who will join the Bulldogs for the 2027 season. The class features a blend of three freshmen and four transfers, adding experience, athleticism, defensive versatility and offensive production to a program looking to replace several key graduates from last year's roster.
The incoming group includes freshmen Enslie Dryer, Paige Bray, and Maddy Feger, along with transfers Emery McReynolds, Maddy Rosenbery, Kyra Kain, and Maddie Guevara.
Enslie Dryer | P/1B | 6-0 | Liberty, Mo. | Liberty HS
Dryer joins the Bulldogs after a standout career at Liberty High School, where she earned first-team all-conference, all-district, and all-region honors as a pitcher in both 2025 and 2026. The 6-foot right-hander was also a multi-sport standout, competing in basketball, cross country, and track and field while building an impressive academic résumé that includes National Honor Society vice president, Academic All-State honors in softball and basketball, and salutatorian recognition.
"Enslie is a tall pitcher with long levers and masterful control," Ferrill said. "She specializes in getting ground balls which should fit into our defensive scheme very well. She also has the ability to move over and help at first base and swing the bat. We look forward to seeing how Enslie deepens our pitching staff."
Paige Bray | INF | 5-7 | Fenton, Mo. | Rockwood Summit HS
A versatile infielder, Bray arrives after a decorated four-year career at Rockwood Summit High School. She earned first-team all-conference, all-district, and all-region honors in both her junior and senior seasons while collecting second-team all-state recognition twice. As a senior, Bray hit .414 and tied the school single-season home run record with nine long balls.
"Paige has the ability to play anywhere on the left side of the field," Ferrill said. "Her home position is shortstop but she has the ability to give us depth at third, left field, and center field if needed. Her versatility and potential leadership abilities made her stand out in the recruiting process. I believe Paige has the ability to give us some middle-of-the-order power at the plate at some point as well."
Maddy Feger | OF | 5-6 | Mexico, Mo. | Mexico HS
Feger brings speed and athleticism to the Bulldog outfield after earning all-conference honors in each of her four seasons at Mexico High School. She added all-district honors three times and all-region recognition as both a junior and senior while helping establish herself as one of the top players in north-central Missouri.
"Maddy has the potential to be an extremely dynamic top-of-the-order outfielder," Ferrill said. "She brings a lot of versatility to the plate as well as speed on the bases. Her speed also gives her the potential to be a lockdown outfielder. Maddy's athleticism, hand-eye coordination, and versatility gives her the potential to wreak havoc on opponents."
Emery McReynolds | INF/OF | 5-6 | St. Louis, Mo. | Rockhurst University/Webster Groves HS
McReynolds transfers to Truman after spending the 2025-26 season at Rockhurst University. Prior to her collegiate career, she was one of the most accomplished players in Webster Groves history, earning first-team all-state honors as a senior and setting school career records for home runs, doubles, runs scored, and assists. She was named Webster Groves Female Athlete of the Year and batted .477 with nine home runs and 37 RBI during her senior campaign.
"Emery is another one that is very exciting to see how and where she will fit in," Ferrill said. "She gives me a great deal of depth and versatility on the left side. She can play both left infield positions as well as slide out to left field. Her home position is shortstop but it was her versatility that really made Emery too exciting to pass on. Her athleticism gives me a lot of options on both offense and defense."
Maddy Rosenbery | C | 5-7 | Carterville, Ill. | Lake Land College/Carterville HS
One of the most accomplished junior college additions in the class, Rosenbery arrives after two seasons at Lake Land College. She helped the Lakers reach the 2025 NJCAA Division I World Series and earned second-team all-region and all-conference honors in 2026 after batting .336 with 11 home runs and 49 RBI. During her high school career at Carterville, she was part of a state championship team and was recognized as the nation's leader in fielding percentage by MaxPreps as a senior.
"Maddy was a very important offseason addition," Ferrill said. "She is a catcher with middle-of-the-order power in her bat. Losing Kyleia [Salyars] to graduation we needed to add a catcher that could start right away. With our lack of run production last year we were hopeful to add some pop to the order as well. Maddy answers all of that. I am excited to get Maddy on the field and see just how much she can impact our program."
Kyra Kain | OF | 5-8 | Urbandale, Iowa | Iowa Central CC/Urbandale HS
Kain joins the Bulldogs after a productive two-year career at Iowa Central Community College, where she posted a .393 career batting average and earned first-team ICCAC All-Conference and NFCA Midwest All-Region honors in 2026. The left-handed hitter batted .425 during her sophomore season and helped Iowa Central reach the national tournament in 2025.
"Kyra was a big target for us in the offseason," Ferrill said. "Graduating most of our outfield, left-handed hitting, and top producing hitters, we needed a very specific recruit in this slot. Kyra answers exactly what we needed here. She is a proven outfielder with a left-handed bat. More importantly than that she is a proven clutch RBI hitter. Kyra is at her best with runners on and big situations. We are very excited to add Kyra to the lineup."
Maddie Guevara | OF | 5-5 | Washington, Mo. | Jefferson College/Washington HS
Guevara rounds out the class after helping Jefferson College capture a Region 16 championship in 2026. A former first-team all-state selection at Washington High School, she was a four-time all-conference, all-district, and all-region performer while setting school records for both single-season and career stolen bases. Guevara also excelled in track and field, earning a fourth-place finish in the Missouri state meet in the shot put.
"Maddie is arguably the most dynamic addition in this class," Ferrill said. "She is a speedy outfielder with most of her experience coming in center field. She covers a ton of ground and communicates well in the outfield. Hitting she offers the rare ability to hit for power while also being speedy on the basepaths. Maddie is one of the better baserunners I have ever recruited. She should be very exciting to watch this season."
The seven-player class provides immediate experience through four transfers while adding three talented freshmen, giving the Bulldogs additional depth in the circle, behind the plate, across the infield, and throughout the outfield as they prepare for the 2027 campaign.
