KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Bridget Schade's five RBIs and Kelsey Bollman's four hits helped the Truman softball team break an eight-game losing streak with a doubleheader sweep of William Jewell (Mo.) College on Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldogs won 4-2 and 7-2.

Truman (14-19) got down early in game one, giving up two runs in four innings to the Cardinals (12-13) without scoring one of their own. Then, in the bottom of the fifth, a single by Meredith Kusky (Ballwin, Mo., Nerinx Hall) ignited the Bulldog offense. After a sacrifice bunt by Ally McReynolds (Wildwood, Mo., Eureka) that moved Kusky to second, the Bulldogs rallied off three hits on top of taking advantage of a critical Cardinal error to score four in their half of the inning.

The Bulldogs would hold off William Jewell in game one with Kirsten Krause (St. Louis, Mo., Parkway North) picking up the win and Kelsea Dorsey (Clarksville, Mo., Clopton) earning her second save of the year after relieving Krause with two outs remaining in the game. Bollman (Maquoketa, Iowa, Maquoketa) picked up two hits, while four Bulldogs had one.

After giving up two runs to the Cardinals in the top of the third in game two, with two runners on base and one that had already scored, Schade (Herculaneum, Mo., Herculaneum) drilled a line drive right over the centerfield fence to put the Bulldogs up 4-2 after three. She finished the game going 2-for-4 with three RBI's.

The 'Dogs would continue to rattle off their offense as they would score one in the fifth and two more in the sixth to go up 7-2. With Dorsey in the circle in game two, the Truman defense would hold off Jewell and keep them scoreless through the end of the game. The Bulldogs tallied nine hits compared to the Cardinals' three.

The Bulldogs are off until this upcoming Saturday where they will travel to Tahlequah, Okla. for a doubleheader against Northeastern (Okla.) State. First pitch is scheduled for 2 pm.
