JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Truman Bulldogs picked up a split with Lincoln University in conference action on Tuesday afternoon on the road. The Bulldogs fell 4-2 in the opener but then downed the Blue Tigers 11-5 to take the nightcap. Truman will host Northwest Missouri in a four-game league set this weekend starting at 3:00 p.m.

Blake Jones (1-5) held the Bulldogs to just three hits in six and two-thirds innings at the Blue Tigers won game one 4-2. Lincoln got on the board in the first with a two-run homer by Clint Cashen but Truman tied things up in the fifth when
Zak Larkin doubled in Jerod Hahn and
Blake Marino. Cashen would single to start the sixth and came in on a base hit by Isaac Cater that proved to be the game winner as it plated two and make it 4-2.
Tim Lee (1-2) took the loss allowing seven hits while striking out three.

The Bulldog offense finally hit its stride as
Daniel Jewett helped his own cause with a 3-for-5 performance and while getting the start on the mound in the nightcap. Jewett doubled and scored the games first run in the second and doubled and scored in a three-run fifth that put Truman ahead 8-0. The Bulldogs had seven extra base hits out of the 12 hits total for the game with
Devon Myers connecting on his first home run of the season and
Weston Lewis driving in two on a triple in the top of the ninth. Jewett got the start and allowed two hits in three and two-thirds and
Tyler Stefan was credited with the win going three.
