ADA, Okla. - - The Truman softball team got 4-for-5 games out of Laura Miller and Kelsey Bollman in game one before Bridget Schade launched a three-run homerun that proved to be the deciding factor in game two during a split at East Central (Okla.) on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (7-10) lost game one 13-10 despite both teams pounding out 16 hits but rebounded with a 4-3 victory in game two to salvage the split. Truman continues its road trip with a doubleheader at Newman (Kan.) University on Wednesday afternoon.

Bollman shared offensive team honors in game one, totaling four hits including a double and a homerun, but the host Tigers used a nine-run third inning to ward off Truman. Miller also went 4-for-5 with a double, while Cate Simon continued her tear with a three-hit game. The Bulldogs were blanked in just two of its seven at-bats and posted a five-run fourth to combat the Tigers' 9-run third; however, ECU tacked on enough insurance runs to earn the victory.

In game two, the Bulldogs built a 4-0 lead, getting a Liz Leath RBI double in the third before Schade went yard for a three-run bomb in the fourth. Truman then held on, leaving the tying run on second in recording the final three outs of the seventh for the victory. Kelsea Dorsey entered in relief and picked up the win. Leath posted two of Truman's eight hits in the nightcap.
