Bulldogs Drop Road Tilt at UCO

EDMOND, Okla. - - Junior forward Trisha Shoemaker scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season, but the Bulldogs surrendered a pair of second half goals to the host Central Oklahoma Bronchos and dropped a 2-1 decision on Friday afternoon. The loss snapped Truman's five-match winning streak.
 
Shoemaker found an opening in the 20th minute and put the Bulldogs (5-2, 2-1 MIAA) on the board, as Truman carried the one-goal lead into the intermission. UCO (7-1, 2-0 MIAA) found the tying goal in the 59th minute on a goal by Alyssa Anderson before Stephanie Fleig scored the eventual game-winner for the Bronchos in the 77th minute.
 
The Bulldogs out-shot UCO 13-11 overall on the afternoon and held a 7-5 edge in corner kicks. Shoemaker and senior Olivia Hayes took four shots each, while junior Emily Bozdeck made five saves in net. Bozdeck ran her consecutive shutout streak to more than 520 minutes – dating back to the season-opener – before surrendering her first goal in six matches.
 
Truman wraps up its Oklahoma trip on when it visits Northeastern State (5-0, 1-0 MIAA) on Sunday at 1pm. The Riverhawks host Lindenwood on Friday night prior to Sunday's march.
