Shoemaker Scores in OT for Thrilling Win

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - - Trisha Shoemaker headed in a Sally Smith cross in the third minute of overtime to give the Truman women's soccer team a 1-0 win at Augustana (S.D.) on Friday afternoon.
 
After playing to a 90 minute stalemate, the Bulldogs (2-1) finally broke through shortly into the overtime session when Shoemaker (Pleasant Valley, Iowa) scored her team-leading third goal of the year in the 93rd minute. For Smith (Ames, Iowa), it marked her first assist of the 2012 campaign.
 
Truman outshot the Vikings (1-2) 13-7 for the match, and keeper Emily Bozdeck (St. Louis, Mo.) logged her second straight shutout between the pipes – making three saves.
 
The Bulldogs finish its two-match nonconference road trip on Sunday at 1:00 pm when they face the University of Sioux Falls.
