Opening Kickoff:
Locked in a four-team tie in the middle of the GLVC pack, the Truman men's soccer team will look to take advantage of two home matches this Friday and Sunday against Bellarmine and McKendree at the Bulldog Soccer Park.
 
The Bulldogs (6-4-2, 4-4-2 GLVC) came away with just one point in a pair of double overtime road contests last weekend, settling for a scoreless draw at Missouri S&T on Friday (Oct. 11) before being dealt a heartbreaking defeat in the 102nd minute at then-No. 25 Drury on Sunday (Oct. 13). Senior Dylan Carter recorded the team's lone goal on the weekend, evening the match at DU with just 7:07 to play off an assist from Austin Hayden.
 
Keeper Drew Garrone played all 211 minutes in net, making 12 saves and recording his fourth career solo shutout in posting a 0.85 goals-against average.
 
On the season, the Bulldogs continue to out-score their opponents by a wide margin (+16), while also out-shooting their opposition by a 164-146 tally. Nick Tolmais leads the squad in goals (6) and points (14), while Nick Franta ranks second on the team with five scores. Chris Mansfield is the team leader in assists with five, followed by three from Hayden.
 
Duke Cochran has an 87-55-14 (.603) record at the helm and is in his ninth season with the program.

Senior Day Sunday:
Prior to Sunday's kickoff against McKendree, the Bulldogs will recognize six senior student-athletes who will be playing their final regular season weekend contest at the Bulldog Soccer Park.
 
Nick Wallner, Kenny Bader, Jacob Schrier, Tony Diepenbrock, Matt Langley and Dylan Carter will all be honored during pre-game festivities for their time spent wearing a Truman uniform. The five field players have combined for 242 games played and 40 points, while Wallner has compiled a 4-2-1 overall record in 14 appearances with a 1.37 GAA in 590 career minutes.
 
Opponent Quick Glance:
The Bellarmine Knights come into Friday's matchup having posted a 2-1-1 mark during its past two weekends en route to a 5-3-2 GLVC mark (7-3-2 overall). The Knights are just 4-3 away from home, where they have compiled a 3-0-2 record.
 
On the year, BU has a +7 goal differential, with nine different players responsible for the team's 22 total goals scored. Dan Schlavl is the team lead in both goals (6) and assists (3), while Matt Odem has added five tallies on 20 total shots. Blake Hunter is made all 12 starts in net, posting a 1.30 GAA and a 72.0% save line.
 
McKendree will make a stop in Kirksville after playing at Quincy on Friday night, where the Bearcats will enter with a record of 3-8-1 overall (1-8-1 GLVC). MCK got into the league win column last weekend with a 2-1 win at Saint Joseph's College before falling 3-1 at Indianapolis. The Bearcats are 1-3-1 away from home this season.
 
On the season, MCK has a -5 goal differential, with seven players scoring the team's 16 total goals. Alex Ridsdale is the motor of the offense, having scored six times and adding an assist for 13 total points. The Bearcats have benefited from the penalty spot, scoring five goals of the PK variety. Scott Armistead has made 10 of 12 starts in net, recording a 1.69 GAA and a 75.3% save mark.
 
'Dogs In Control:
Of the nearly 1150 minutes of action through the team's 12 matches this year, the Bulldogs have either led or been tied a resounding 84.4% of the time. Truman has spent just 178 minutes and change trailing this year, with the majority of that coming during the three matches against UW-Parkside, Rockhurst and Drury.
 
Nick-Squared:
A pair of Bulldog midfielders – Nick Tolmais and Nick Franta – are serving as the engine behind the Truman offense this season, as the tandem has combined for 11 goals and three assists for 25 total points. They have combined to score the first goal of a game five times this season and have scored on 11 of their 25 total shots on goal.
 
Up Next:
The Bulldogs will bring in a former MIAA rival on Wednesday (Oct. 23), hosting No. 7 Lindenwood at 2:00 pm at the Bulldog Soccer Park in a non-conference battle.
 
From there, the team hits the road for the final time in the 2013 regular season next weekend, visiting Southern Indiana (4-6-2, 3-6-1 GLVC) and Illinois Springfield (5-8, 4-6 GLVC) on Friday and Sunday (Oct. 25-27).
