Opening Kickoff:
The Truman men's soccer team enters a hectic week of action, playing three matches in five days beginning with a home non-conference tilt with No. 5 Lindenwood (Mo.) on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 pm.

From there, the Bulldogs (7-4-3, 5-4-3) return to GLVC play with a lengthy weekend road trip, traveling to Southern Indiana on Friday (Oct. 25) at 7:30 pm before stopping at Illinois Springfield on Sunday (Oct. 27) for a 2:30 pm showdown. The three matches this week cover Nos. 15-17 on the 2013 slate, with one regular season match remaining next week.

Last week, Truman went to double overtime twice more during Homecoming weekend, settling for a Friday afternoon scoreless draw with Bellarmine (Ky.) before dashing McKendree's upset plans 3-2 on Sunday. Matt Langley and Tony Luedecke (along with an own goal by MCK) provided the offense on Sunday, while Drew Garrone posted a 0.93 goals-against average in 193 minutes of work between the pipes with seven saves.

On the season, Truman has a +17 goal differential, having scored 32 times by 11 different players. Nick Tolmais continues to lead the squad in both goals (6) and points (14), with Nick Franta right behind him with five tallies. Austin Hayden is also in double-figure points, having totaled 10 behind three goals and four assists.

Duke Cochran has an 88-55-15 (.604) record at the helm and is in his ninth season with the program.

Getting Their Money's Worth:
The Bulldogs have gone into double overtime in each of the team's last four contests, setting a new program record for consecutive overtime sessions.

In addition, the six total extra time matches this season by the team matches the program record of six set back in 2000. The most recent high was four in 2006.

The team has played 99:15 of extra time this season, logging an entire extra match and change of game time.

'Dogs In Control:
Of the nearly 1360 minutes of action through the team's 14 matches this year, the Bulldogs have either led or been tied a resounding 86.8% of the time. Truman has spent just 178 minutes trailing this year, with the majority of that coming during the three matches against UW-Parkside, Rockhurst and Drury.

You Can Put It on the Board…:
Soccer statisticians point to the correlation between earning at least a win/draw when scoring the game's first goal, and that has been seen this season with the Bulldog men. When Truman scores first, the purple and white are 6-2-1, compared to just a 1-2 record when the opponent scores first.

That percentage goes even higher when the Bulldogs carry a lead into the intermission, as Truman is 5-1-1 this season when ahead at the break.

Magic Number – 2:
When the Bulldogs give up one goal or less, the squad has come through every time to post a 6-0-3 record this season. However, when giving up at least two goals, the Bulldogs are just 1-4, with the first win coming this past Sunday against McKendree.

Opponent Quick Glance:
Lindenwood
One of the nation's top teams, in-state rival Lindenwood checks into Wednesday's non-conference match unblemished this season with an overall record of 12-0-1. The Lions are 5-0-1 on the road, with their one draw coming at Upper Iowa on Sept. 29 (0-0). LWU is 4-0 against the GLVC this season, with wins coming against UMSL (2-1), S&T (3-0), Maryville (2-0) and Quincy (3-2).

The Lions have a +18 goal differential, with 10 of the squad's 28 goals coming via Aris Nukic. Ignacio Romero is responsible for five more, while Mauricio Medina has contributed a team-high six assists. Fermin Hughes has a 0.90 GAA in 12 starts in net, recording 46 saves for an 82.1% save line.

Carl Hutter is in his 20th season at the helm of the LWU program and has a record of 288-110-27 at the school.

Southern Indiana
The Screaming Eagles will enter Friday night's match riding a five-match unbeaten streak, in which the squad has gone 3-0-2. The team is just 2-4 at home this season, however, in contrast to its 3-2-3 road record.

USI has a +5 goal differential, with a trio of players scoring four goals each. Of that grouping, Corey Fundenberger has the lead in points behind three assists, while Caleb Mathers has added a pair of assists to his four tallies. Jeffrey Neldlinger has started all 14 matches in net and has a 1.10 GAA and a 72.9% save line.

Mat Santoro is in his fifth season as the program's head coach and has a record of 36-42-6 at the school.

Illinois Springfield
Prior to the weekend in which UIS will host QU on Friday night, the Prairie Stars are coming off their first win in five outings on Oct. 20, having defeated Maryville 3-1. UIS is 3-3 at home this season, including a 2-3 mark in GLVC matches.

The squad holds a -4 goal differential on the season with both Mark Czarny and Nikita Fadeev having scored four goals apiece. Nicolas Alonso del Moral is the team leader in assists with three, while Jack Turanchik has started 12 of 15 matches in goal with a 1.45 GAA and a 74.2% save line.

Jesse Miech is in his second season as the head coach of the UIS program, having compiled a 9-23-1 record at the school.

GLVC Tourney Outlook:
With just three conference matches to go in the 2013 regular season, the Bulldogs find themselves in a four-way tie for sixth place in the league table. Truman is matched up by percentage with UW-Parkside, Mo.-St. Louis and Bellarmine – all 3.5 games back of a three-way tie at the top between Quincy, UIndy, and Rockhurst.

The top four teams will host a GLVC first-round game against seeds 5-8 on Sunday, Nov. 3, with the advancing teams moving on to the top remaining seed for semifinal and championship play on Nov. 8 and 10.

Up Next:
The Bulldogs will return to Kirksville for their final regular season home match on Wednesday, Oct. 30, when Truman hosts Quincy at 2:30 pm.
