KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - The top two GLVC women's soccer programs played to a weather-shortened 0-0 draw on Wednesday afternoon, as No. 24 Truman and No. 9 Quincy were halted by lightning and poor field conditions in the 75th minute.

Since the match had surpassed the required 70 minutes required by the NCAA to be an official match, the teams each add a draw to their ledger, closing the Truman women's regular season at 11-3-4 (10-2-3 GLVC). Quincy closes its regular season slate at 14-0-4 (12-0-3 GLVC).

In a relatively even contest between the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds for the upcoming GLVC tournament, Quincy out-shot the Bulldogs 6-5 overall and 3-2 on net, with both keepers making key saves at various points to preserve the scoreless draw. Suzanne Pelley and Melanie Hunt were each credited with two shots apiece, while Emily Bozdeck notched her 26th career shutout (11th of 2013) with her three saves.

The Lady Hawks had a pair of solid opportunities in just the ninth minute, but Bozdeck touched a Jaclyn Mastroianni shot wide. Truman, meanwhile, had a few chances to go up 1-0, but couldn't get many shots off in the midst of the QU defense. Pelley had her 70th minute opportunity gobbled up by QU keeper Jodi Chapie for one of the last true chances for either team.

With 15:59 on the clock, lightning was detected within a six-mile radius, halting the match. As the delays mounted, the field conditions worsened, resulting in game officials ending the match.

Truman will now carry a two-match unbeaten streak into Sunday's GLVC quarterfinal, as the Bulldogs will be the tournament's No. 2 seed. The squad's opponent will be announced following the conclusion of play on Wednesday night.
