QUINCY, Ill. - - Nick Franta scored his sixth goal of the season, and Brandon Visonnavong added his second for the Truman men's soccer team; however, Quincy used a fast start to hold off the Bulldogs 4-2 on Thursday night.

The host Hawks (14-4, 13-2 GLVC) – who became the home team after Wednesday's scheduled contest in Kirksville was unplayable due to weather and field conditions – jumped all over Truman in the early minutes, getting three goals in the first 13:20 to put Truman (7-8-3, 5-7-3 GLVC) in an early hole. Franta would get the Bulldogs on the board in the 35th minute when he fired a shot into the left side to cut the QU lead to 3-1.

Quincy would make it 4-1 early in the second half before Visonnavong took a cross by Chris Mansfield and scored in the 58th to bring the deficit back to two. Neither team scored from there, though, as Truman suffered its fourth straight loss to close the regular season.

Visonnavong led all Bulldogs off the bench with three shots, while senior Nick Wallner made the start in goal and made nine saves.

The result spelled the end of the 2013 season for the Bulldog men, who finish the season tied for 11th in the league standings. Franta and Nick Tolmais shared the team-lead with six goals, with Mansfield's six assists leading that category.

The Bulldogs are set to return 10 starters for next year's squad, losing Kenny Bader, Tony Diepenbrock, Matt Langley and Dylan Carter to graduation.
