Opening Kickoff:
The No. 22 Truman women's soccer team hits the road for two in-state matches this weekend, making stops at Missouri S&T and Drury this Friday and Sunday.

Truman is coming off a 2-0 weekend at home against two of the GLVC's five NCAA tournament teams from a year ago, picking up back-to-back 1-0 wins against Rockhurst and William Jewell at the Bulldog Soccer Park. Sophomore Megan Frkovic scored her first goal of the season to break a scoreless draw in the 73rd minute against RU, before senior Trisha Shoemaker notched her team-high fourth goal of the 2013 season in the 13th minute against WJC.

The two wins ran the Bulldogs' current winning streak to five matches while also extending the team's unbeaten streak to 10. The five straight wins matches a similar mark set from Sept. 2-20, 2012, with the next longest streak reaching eight wins from Oct. 1-28, 2011. Meanwhile, the 10-game unbeaten streak is the longest since an 11-match stretch from Sept. 17-Oct. 30, 2009. From there, the most recent streak was a 20-match run, encompassing nearly the entire 2004 season from the season opener on Aug. 27 through Nov. 13.

On the year, the Bulldogs are out-scoring their opposition 17-4 while also owning a 183-119 advantage in total shots. Shoemaker and sophomore Alexis Heffernan share the team lead with 10 points, with Heffernan's four assists leading all Bulldogs in that category. Truman's 17 total goals have been scored by 10 different players, with only three players (Shoemaker, Heffernan, and senior Suzanne Pelley) scoring multiple goals this year.

Defensively, the Bulldogs rank amongst the nation's elite, having given up just four goals in 11 matches. Senior Emily Bozdeck's goals-against average of 0.35 and seven shutouts lead the GLVC in both categories. She also has a 91.5 save percentage, having made 43 saves on 47 total shots on goal.

Leading the Bulldogs on the sideline is head coach Mike Cannon, who is in his 21st season at the helm of the Truman program. He has a 273-97-40 all-time record at Truman and is the seventh-winningest active coach in NCAA-II history. Cannon has guided the Bulldogs to nine NCAA postseason appearances.

Opponent Quick Glance:
Missouri S&T comes into Friday night's match having won two straight on the road last weekend – garnering a 2-1 win at Maryville on Oct. 4 before downing Missouri-St. Louis 1-0 on Oct. 6. The Miners have yet to play a non-conference match this season, putting both their overall and conference records at 3-3-2.

S&T has scored just seven goals in eight games but has allowed only nine goals in that stretch. The squad is being out-shot 101-74 on the year and has given up seven more corner kicks than their opposition. Sarah Hostler is the team-leader with three goals scored, while two other players have recorded two assists apiece. A goalie platoon has been enacted between the pipes, with both Kaitlyn Deister (0.71 GAA) and Madison Gibler (1.38 GAA) making four starts each.

Drury also comes into the weekend having secured points in both road matches last weekend, earning a 1-1 draw at UMSL before blanking Maryville 3-0. Overall on the season, the Panthers are 6-3-2, with a 4-2-2 mark in GLVC matches. DU will host Quincy on Friday night prior to Truman's visit on Sunday.

The Panthers have out-scored their opponents 19-13 on the year and hold a slim 133-131 lead in total shots. Emily Cline has been the offense's motor with six goals and two assists; however, she left the team's match against Bellarmine on Sept. 29 and did not play in either match last weekend. Sarah Duffy (3), Kara Steiner (2), and Mariah Grove (2) have all found pay-dirt on multiple occasions for DU. Kelsey Vaught has started seven of the team's 11 matches in goal, surrendering a 1.07 GAA with a 78.4 save percentage.

'Dogs Slip Two in National Poll:
Despite handing out two shutouts last weekend, the Bulldogs were dropped two spots in this week's NSCAA top-25 coaches' poll – sliding to No. 22. Truman is just one of two (No. 9 Quincy) GLVC squads ranked in the top-25, with Rockhurst continuing to also receive votes.

Shoemaker Moves Into Top-10:
Senior forward Trisha Shoemaker scored her 21st career goal while wearing a Truman uniform last weekend, moving her into a tie with Riley Mahn (2006-09) for 10th on the program's all-time goals scored list. There are four players currently in the top-10 that have scored between 21-27 career goals, meaning a quick burst of tallies could propel the 2011 transfer up the chart quickly.

Bulldog Influence on Panther Program:
Long-time fans of Truman soccer will recognize the names of both Drury head coaches this weekend, as Alf Bilbao is in his eighth season as the women's head coach, while Ryan Swan is the fifth-year head coach of the men's program.

Head women's coach Mike Cannon and head men's coach Duke Cochran join Bilbao and Swan as alums of the Bulldog men's program, as the first three all played together during various seasons in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

After Cannon took over the head coaching reigns of the women's program in 1993, Bilbao eventually returned and took the controls of the men's program in 1998 – beginning a seven-year run in which he posted a 96-28-10 (.754) record. During that spell, he coached DU's Swan for two seasons.

Bulldogs Controlling Pace of Play:
Of the 1,041-plus minutes of action this season, the Bulldogs have only trailed for 20 minutes and two seconds – just 1.9% of the season. Truman has been tied with its opponents 61.9% (644:33) of the time and has been leading 36.2% (377:32) of the time spent on the field.

Up Next:
The Bulldogs return to Kirksville for two matches during Homecoming weekend. Truman kicks off the weekend on Friday, Oct. 18 at 12:00 pm against Bellarmine (5-4-2, 4-3-1 GLVC), before capping the weekend on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 12:00 pm against McKendree (5-3-3, 3-2-3 GLVC).
