Volleyball Earns Sunday Sweep at St. Joseph's

RENSSELAER, Ind. - - Allie Brak led the way with a dozen kills, and Abby Moser added 20 digs on the back line, as the No. 21 Truman volleyball team swept Saint Joseph's College 3-0 on Sunday afternoon to cap a weekend trip.

Brak led all players in the match with 12 kills, a pair of aces and a block assist for 14.5 total points, while both Ali Patterson (eight kills, two aces, one solo block) and Abby Heise (nine kills, three block assists) reached double-figure points. The Bulldogs (19-9, 12-3 GLVC) took the first and third sets by 26-24 margins, sandwiching a 25-13 romp in set two.

For the match, the Bulldogs hit .198 while holding the host Pumas (11-18, 4-11 GLVC) to just a .126 hitting line. Meghan Zimmerman finished with 35 assists, while Moser averaged nearly seven digs per set with her match-high 20. Heather Hargadine added a dozen digs, while Kayla Bastian put away five kills.

The Bulldogs return to Pershing Arena on Tuesday night for a 7:00 pm showdown with Quincy. Truman defeated the Lady Hawks 3-1 on Oct. 8 in Quincy behind 20 Brak kills and 10 each by Heise and Jessye Maurer. QU dropped both matches in similar trip through SJC and UIndy this weekend to fall to 9-18 overall on the season, 3-12 in the GLVC.
