Kirksville, Mo. – Truman State University volleyball had four student-athletes earn recognition on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Volleyball Team, the organization announced. Senior middle blocker Makayla Way, junior setter Tori Creason, sophomore middle blocker Autumn Erickson, and sophomore setter Addy Janssen were all honored for their exceptional performance in the classroom and on the court.
To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of their institution's matches or start in at least 66 percent of contests. Additionally, nominees must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.
Makayla Way
Senior middle blocker Makayla Way capped her outstanding Bulldog career with Academic All-District honors while leading the team in blocking. Way appeared in 98 sets this season, recording 153 kills with a team-best .320 attack percentage. The senior was a dominant force at the net, tallying 16 solo blocks and 78 block assists for 94.0 total blocks, which averaged 0.96 blocks per set. Way's efficiency and consistency made her one of the most reliable offensive weapons for the Bulldogs, contributing 208.0 total points on the season.
Tori Creason
Junior setter Tori Creason orchestrated the Bulldog offense throughout the season while earning Academic All-District recognition. Creason played in all 99 sets, distributing 737 assists for an average of 7.44 assists per set, leading the team in facilitating the attack. The junior also contributed 47 kills with an impressive .264 attack percentage and added 27 service aces. Defensively, Creason was second on the team with 249 digs (2.52 per set), showcasing her all-around game and leadership on the court.
Autumn Erickson
Sophomore middle blocker Autumn Erickson made an immediate impact in her second season, earning Academic All-District honors with an outstanding statistical performance. Erickson appeared in 95 sets and led the team with 214 kills while posting a .318 attack percentage. She was second on the team in blocking with 9 solo blocks and 62 block assists for 71.0 total blocks (0.75 per set). The sophomore also contributed 25 service aces and ranked third on the team with 279.0 total points, establishing herself as one of the program's top offensive threats.
Addy Janssen
Sophomore setter Addy Janssen earned Academic All-District recognition while providing stability and leadership in the Bulldog backcourt. Janssen appeared in all 99 sets, recording 123 assists and contributing 21 service aces. The sophomore was the team's defensive anchor, leading all players with 485 digs for an impressive 4.90 digs per set average. Her consistency in serve receive was evident as she led the team in reception errors with just 25 in 99 sets, demonstrating her reliability as a primary passer while managing both setting and defensive responsibilities.
The four honorees helped lead the Bulldogs to a 12-17 overall record and 7-5 regular season mark in Great Lakes Valley Conference play during the 2025 season. Their commitment to excellence both academically and athletically exemplifies the values of Truman State University and the Bulldog volleyball program.
