WARRENSBURG, Mo.  - - Seth Jackson recorded a double-double as one of three Bulldogs to reach double-figures offensively, but the Truman men's basketball team couldn't find the range from distance in a 76-64 loss at Central Missouri on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs fell behind by 10 at the break and trailed by 16 with 11:25 to play before making a run at the Mules midway through the second half. Truman scored on five straight possessions to cut the deficit to 11 and eventually got the UCM lead to single-digits on a Jackson (St. Louis, Mo., CBC) layup with 6:42 to go. After the Mules pushed the lead back to 10, Mike Carlson (Superior, Wis., Marshall) converted a three-point play and Jackson made two free throws to get the 'Dogs to within five at 62-57 with 6:05 on the clock.

Central Missouri, however, retaliated with a 10-0 run fueled by three Bulldog turnovers to open up a 15-point cushion with 3:12 to play. Truman got seven combined points from the Myers brothers in the final three minutes but fell by a dozen, 76-64.

Jackson recorded his first career double-double with a 15-point, 10-rebound game, while Cole Myers (Ankeny, Iowa, Ankeny) poured in 11 points off the bench. Carlson chipped in 10 and grabbed six boards, as Truman shot 41% from the field for the game. The trouble came from long-range, as the Bulldogs went just 1-of-19 (5.3%) from beyond the arc, marking the fewest triples made by the squad this year. Truman did finish 11-of-15 (73%) from the free throw line and forced a dozen UCM turnovers.

Charles Hammork scored 20 points for UCM to lead all players, as the Mules clinched at least a share of the MIAA regular season title with Wednesday night's victory.

The Bulldogs close out the regular season on Saturday at Northwest Missouri (18-8, 11-6 MIAA), looking to potentially move up in seeding for next week's MIAA tournament. Truman has secured at least the No. 11 seed after Missouri Western's loss at Fort Hays on Wednesday night.
