Bulldogs Take Their Shot Against The Missouri Tigers

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Truman Baseball team took their shot against the Southeastern Conference's new member as they stepped up to play the University of Missouri on Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers used an eight-run fifth inning to defeat the Bulldogs 14-4. Truman returns to conference action on Thursday as they travel to the Lincoln (Mo.) Blue Tigers for a doubleheader.
 
Josh Lester did most of the damage for Mizzou going two of three from the dish and had three RBIs. Lester had a two run single in the third and an RBI double in the fifth as the Tigers sent 12 hitters to the plate in that inning.
 
Corbin Williams collected a pair hits in his three at bats for the Bulldogs while Paul Trenhaile and Chris Zrostlik drove in runs in the sixth. The top six batters in the Truman lineup delivered the eight hits off of five Missouri pitchers.
 
Truman threw six hurlers at the Tigers using the staff in the game that was hastily scheduled on Monday afternoon due to the amount of games being missed because of early season weather.
 
Starter Tyler McCreary took the loss going four innings, allowing three earned runs.
 
Truman will play Lincoln in MIAA action on Thursday in Jefferson City before a weekend affair at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin.
