Baseball Swept By #5 Central Missouri

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Seeing their first action in a few weeks due to poor weather conditions, the Truman Baseball team was swept in a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon by the University of Central Missouri. The Bulldogs will return to action tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. in Pittsburg, Kan. against the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
 
The fifth ranked Mules provided too much firepower as they scored eight runs in the first two innings of game one then added seven more for a 17-2 victory in the opener.
 
Jarod Hahn went 2-for-3 and Paul Trenhaile was also collected two hits. Trenhaile drove in Hahn with an RBI double in the sixth and came into score on another double by Chris Zrostlik.
 
The Bulldogs struck first in game two as Trenhaile singled in Hahn in the first inning but the Mules would retaliate with four runs in the bottom of the inning.
 
Truman cut the lead in half in the third when Zak Larkin singled in Will Nader from second.
 
Central added four more in the bottom of the inning and tacked on nine in the fifth and seven in the sixth. Truman's final run came on an RBI single by T.J. Wood in the top of the seventh.
