INDIANAPOLIS - - The 21st-ranked Truman women's soccer team got two goals in an eight-minute span late in the second half to earn a 2-0 win at Indianapolis on Friday afternoon.

Suzanne Pelley stepped to the penalty spot and knocked home a goal in the 72nd minute following a UIndy red card to give the 'Dogs (5-1-2, 4-0-1 GLVC) a 1-0 lead.

Then, in the 80th minute, the forward duo of Alexis Heffernan and Trisha Shoemaker connected for an insurance tally, with Heffernan finding Shoemaker open inside the six-yard box for her second goal of the season.

The Bulldogs dominated play throughout the match, but particularly in the second half when Truman out-shot UIndy 13-3 en route to a 17-8 edge for the full 90 minutes. Truman also earned 11 corner kicks while keeping the Greyhounds off the board in that category.

Emily Bozdeck posted three saves in goal, adding to her conference-leading five shutouts.

Truman returns to the field on Sunday in Rensselaer, Ind., to face St. Joseph's College. Kickoff against the Pumas is set for 12:00 pm.
