Women's Soccer Falls in Overtime at #6 MSU

MANKATO, Minn. - - A goal nearly seven minutes into the first overtime by No. 6 Minnesota State's Courtney Vallarelli broke a scoreless tie and dealt the Truman women's soccer team a 1-0 setback in its 2013 season-opener on Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (0-1) couldn't break through with any of their six total shots, while MSU came through on its 19th shot of the contest with 3:02 to play in the opening overtime.

Trisha Shoemaker and Melanie Hunt each recorded two shots, while Emily Bozdeck made seven saves in net.

Truman returns to action on Sunday afternoon at Winona (Minn.) State, kicking off at noon.
