Bulldog Volleyball to Host Dig Pink Event on Saturday

KIRKSVILLE - - The Truman volleyball team will host its annual "Dig Pink" for breast cancer awareness match this Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. against Rockhurst.

In lieu of normal admission charges, fans will be given the opportunity to make a donation to the Side-Out Foundation. Supported by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the Side-Out Foundation awards medical research grants that are dedicated to providing patient services for breast cancer patients and their families. Fans can learn more about the Side-Out Foundation and the Dig Pink October initiative by visiting http://www.side-out.org/digpink/.

The Bulldogs will be wearing special pink jerseys during the match, with the program also hosting a silent auction during pre-game and the first two sets. Multiple items will be available for purchase, with all funds also contributing towards the Side-Out Foundation.

The Saturday afternoon match against Rockhurst will follow Truman's Friday night (7 p.m.) home match against William Jewell. The Bulldogs (11-2, 7-0 GLVC) enter the weekend winners of nine straight matches and currently lead Rockhurst by one game in the GLVC West Division standings.
