Bellarmine Knights Lance Bulldogs In Tennis Dual

ST. LOUIS – The Truman Men's Tennis team lost a non-conference regional match with Bellarmine (Ky.) University on Sunday afternoon by an 8-1 score.
 
Adam King won the team point for the Bulldogs with a 6-2, 7-5 decision over Alex Swords at number three singles.
 
Joe Murphy-Baum pushed the Knights number one player, Zachary Kuo to a marathon match. Kuo won the first set 7-6 (8-6) with Murphy-Baum responding with a 6-7 (4-7) win to force a third set tie-break. In the final set, Kuo prevailed 10-6 for the win.
 
Kirk Schulter and Griffin Smith forced an extra game in the number one doubles match. Swords and Alan Gardiner held on for the win 9-7 while the other two doubles matches were decided by identical 8-2 scores.
 
The Bulldogs will look to break their four-game skid when they are scheduled to host Missouri Valley next Tuesday in Kirksville at 2:00 p.m.
