KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - Senior Kelsey Bollman had five hits – including a walk-off winner in game one – and the tandem of Kindra Henze and Kelsea Dorsey held visiting Drury to just one run in a Truman softball sweep on Sunday afternoon at the Truman Softball Park.

Truman (24-5, 16-2 GLVC) came from behind for a game one victory before shutting out Drury (7-23, 4-10 GLVC) in game two to cap a perfect 4-0 weekend at home. The Bulldogs recorded 20 hits in the two games – including five doubles – but left 14 runners on base and committed a pair of base-running miscues that kept the games close. Bollman's five hits led all players on the day, while leadoff hitter Danielle Lewellen added three base knocks and her 50th career stolen base.

Meanwhile, the sophomore sensations in the circle kept the Panthers off kilter all day, with only a game one RBI single keeping Henze and Dorsey from recording a second straight day of zero runs allowed.

The Bulldogs are next slated to host former MIAA rival Northwest Missouri State in a Tuesday (April 1) doubleheader at the Truman Softball Park. The first pitch of the doubleheader between the 'Dogs and 'Cats is set for 2 p.m.

Game 1 Recap – #25 Truman 2, Drury 1
Kelsey Bollman delivered a walk-off single into left center with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, sending the Bulldogs to a 2-1 victory in Sunday's opener.

DU got on the board first in the second inning when Becca McDonald brought home Kelsey James for a 1-0 lead.

However, the Bulldogs evened the score in the fourth behind a Whitney Richardson double into the left field corner – allowing Jessica VanNostrand to score all the way from first base.

Finally, in the seventh, an error by the Panther second baseman allowed Alexis VanNostrand to reach as the leadoff batter. Following an unsuccessful sacrifice attempt by Corey Niblett, Lewellen and Andrea Klipsch recorded back-to-back singles to center that loaded the bases. On the first pitch, Bollman smashed a rocket off the glove of the DU shortstop that landed in left-center, sending Truman into the intermission as walkoff winners.

Bollman, Lewellen, and A. VanNostrand each recorded two hits offensively. Henze, meanwhile, improved to 13-2 on the year with a complete game four-hitter, allowing one run and striking out seven on 93 total pitches.

Game 2 Recap – #25 Truman 3, Drury 0
The Bulldogs scored in their first and last at-bats of the game to complete a Sunday sweep of DU with a 3-0 victory.

Back-to-back doubles by Klipsch and Bollman led to Cate Simon singling through the left side – plating Klipsch – for a 1-0 Truman lead.

The Bulldogs then picked up two insurance runs in the sixth when both Liz Leath and Richardson would reach to start the inning. Ally McReynolds would eventually drive home pinch-runner Kelsey Jacques in front of Lewellen bringing home pinch-runner Corey Niblett on a fielder's choice.

After getting out of a second and third jam in the top of the first, Dorsey was nearly unhittable the rest of the day, as she finished her day with a complete game, five-hit shutout. She struck out three Panthers and used 93 pitches to run her season record to 11-3.
