KIRKSVILLE - - The Truman volleyball team learned its three opponents and match times for next weekend's Midwest Regional Crossover, as the Bulldogs will battle three GLIAC schools during the two-day event, including Tiffin (Ohio), Ashland (Ohio), and Hillsdale (Mich.).

Truman - who earned the No. 4 seed out of the GLVC through the first nine conference matches of 2015 - will take on the Nos. 3, 4, and 9-ranked teams out of the GLIAC. On Friday, Oct. 16, the Bulldogs will face GLIAC No. 9 Tiffin first at 11:30 a.m., followed by a showdown against GLIAC No. 4 Ashland later in the day at 5:30 p.m. Then, on Saturday, Oct. 17, Truman will face GLIAC No. 3 Hillsdale at 1 p.m. to close the two-day, three-match event.

Held at the Great Lakes Center in Aurora, Ill., Mizuno will once again serve as the title sponsor for the regional volleyball event which will pit 16 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) volleyball teams, 16 institutions representing the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and, for the first time in 2015, four programs from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The two-day tournament will feature 54 matches conducted on nine courts at one of the top volleyball facilities in the country. The event, designed to increase competition between teams from the two leagues in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region, has previously been held in Indianapolis, Ind. and Lansing, Mich.

Friday will mark the first meeting between Truman (11-6, 6-3 GLVC) and Tiffin (8-7, 5-4 GLIAC). Truman will face Ashland (12-5, 7-2 GLIAC) for the third time in the series history, with the last meeting having come at the Midwest Crossover in 2013 (AU 3-0). Truman is 2-0 all-time against Hillsdale (13-3, 7-2 GLIAC), with the last meeting taking place in 2007 in Findlay, Ohio.

The GLIAC will face the GLVC in 42 matches with each league facing G-MAC teams six times each. The Crossover consists of nine matches happening simultaneously in each of three sessions over the two-day event. The conference that boasts the best combined record at the end of the event will earn the Crossover traveling trophy, which has been in the GLVC's possession the past five years.

This will be the third season that Truman has competed at the Midwest Crossover, having compiled a 4-2 overall record. The Bulldogs went 1-2 in 2013 before earning three wins against Findlay (Ohio), Ohio Dominican, and Ferris (Mich.) State last season.
