COLUMBIA, Mo.  –  The Truman Bulldogs fell to the University of Missouri on Tuesday night 10-2 at Taylor Stadium in Columbia. The Bulldogs open conference play this weekend.
 
The Tigers (11-4) got on the scoreboard in the first on a sac fly that scored Brett Peel.  Truman (7-2) answered in the third with a two-out rally. Zak Larkin was hit by a pitch and stole second. Jarod Hahn singled to center scoring Larkin from second to knot things up.
 
Josh Lester drove one over the wall in right to put Mizzou back in front with a two-run shot in the bottom of the inning.
 
The Bulldogs did not go away and produced another two-out run in the fourth. Blake Deaton moved around the bases on a pair of ground outs and Wyatt Fones got a swinging bunt that died on the first base line scoring Deaton to make it 3-2.
 
Zach Lavy tripled in Brett Bond in the bottom of the inning and later scored on a sac fly to put the Tigers back in front for good.
 
Mizzou added single runs in the fifth and seventh innings and three in the eighth.
 
It was a designated "staff" day for both teams as Truman used six pitchers and the Tigers sent seven hurlers to the mound. Sam Reuter started going two innings and was followed by Nate Lukas, Peter Young, Chris Beckmann, Andrew Range and Austin Tinsley.
 
The Bulldogs open up Great Lakes Valley Conference action this weekend against the defending Division II national champions, the University of Southern Indiana.
