KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Truman men's soccer team traveled to No. 1 Rockhurst on Sunday afternoon and the Hawks controlled the action for 90 minutes as the Bulldogs dropped a 2-0 decision at Bourke Field.
Truman is now 4-5-1 overall and 2-5 in the GLVC while Rockhurst improved to 9-0-1 on the season and 7-0-1 in conference play. For the team statistics, the Hawks led in total shots (21-8), shots on goal (10-2) and corner kicks (4-2).
The Hawks' two goals came in the 45th minute, just six seconds before halftime, from Andrew Patke and in the 58th minute from Mitch Moncada. In goal,
Jory Knernschield made his first start of the season and seventh of his career. Knernschield faced 19 shots and made six saves while playing all 90 minutes.
Next up, the Bulldogs will host Saint Joseph's on Friday, October 7 with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. at Bulldog Soccer Park.
