Truman Tennis Drops Pair To Quincy

Men's Match: Quincy 6, Truman 3
Women's Match: Quincy 8, Truman 1

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Quincy Hawks took both ends of a men's and women's tennis dual over the Truman Bulldogs on Sunday. The Truman women will host Maryville on Friday and both teams will host Missouri-St. Louis next Saturday.

The Quincy men downed the Bulldog men 6-3 in their dual. Gavin Hatter and Griffin Turnage defeated Danyil Vayser and Chris Bueler 9-7 to earn Truman's lone doubles point at number three.

Hatter defeated Vayser in singles play needing three-sets 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 at number three while Paul Province was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at number two over Michael Lesko.

The women fell 8-1 to the Lady Hawks as the number two doubles team of Lauren Jin and Maura Dunn were victorious by an 8-4 score. Marisa Thome and Lindsey Schlichting had two close battles at numbers two and three singles respectively. Thome lost 6-2, 7-6 and Schlichting fell 7-6, 7-6 at number three.
