KANSAS CITY, Mo.  – The Truman Bulldog Baseball team suffered another heartbreaking loss in game one of Saturday's doubleheader as Rockhurst took the opener 5-4 then used a big first inning and held on for the sweep with a 12-8 win in the nightcap. The teams will finish up their series at 11 a.m. on Sunday with a single game.

Game 1 Recap:
It was déjà vu again for the Bulldogs as Rockhurst rallied with two runs in the sixth and walked off with the victory in the bottom of the seventh to take game one 5-4.

The Hawks jumped on top with a run in the second and Truman answered with a T.J. Wood triple and Mason King single in the third to tie things up. Rockhurst went back up 2-1 on an RBI single by Mitch Stickney in their half of the third.

Truman bounced back in front in the fourth. Adam Gregorich doubled and Charlie Kreh reached on an error. Trevor Bell drove in Gregorich with a hit to left and Wood singled to right scoring Kreh.

Bell then doubled and went to third on a wild pitch in the sixth and scored on Joey Gardner's single to right center to put Truman up 4-2.

David Stober tied the game with a two-out single to left in the bottom of the sixth then won the game on a two-out double by Stickney in the bottom of the seventh.

Chris Beckmann was tagged with the loss as he pitched the final 3.2 innings in relief of starter Tyler Spencer and Adrian Morris.

Bell, King and Wood all had two hits apiece in game one.

Game 2 Recap:
Rockhurst scored five times in the bottom of the first and led 8-1 after three before the Bulldogs tried to battle back.

Nick Agliolo and Dave Gambino both reached on hits to start the fourth and Agliolo scored on a failed pickoff attempt. Charlie Kreh singled in Gambino for the second run of the inning and T.J. Wood cleared the bases with a three-run double to left center to make it 8-6.

The Hawks extended their lead out to 11-6 with a three-run fifth inning.

Truman got a pair back in the seventh as Wyatt Fones scored on a wild pitch and T.J. Wood scored on a groundout to short.

Rockhurst added one more insurance run in the eighth then closed out the 'Dogs in the ninth for the win.

Kreh continued his torrid hitting with a 3-for-4 performance and is hitting .636 (7-of-11) for the series thus far.
