RECAP: Wrestling Completes Major Comeback Over Benedictine

RESULTS

ATCHISON, Kan. – The Bulldog Wrestling team came back from a 21-9 deficit to win a dual over Benedictine College 25-21 on Thursday night.
 
The Bulldogs picked up the first nine points of the dual with a forfeit win by J.J. Dorrell at 125 and a 5-3 victory by Caleb Osborn at 133.
 
The Ravens won the next five bouts to put Truman's backs against the wall.
 
Jules Joseph started the Truman comeback with a pin fall victory at 184 over Cameron Bruce to make it 21-15. Sam Reeves got into the act and won by fall at the 2:20 mark to draw the team's even at 21 apiece.
 
In the 285-pound match, Ashton Mutuwa shutout Ronald Broyles 11-0 to earn the four-point major decision victory and complete the Truman rally.
 
The Bulldogs improve to 5-7 on the season.
 
Truman returns to action on January 21 in which they will compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference for the first time. The Bulldogs will host the University of Indianapolis and Bellarmine University in dual matches to begin the first season of GLVC wrestling. Matches begin at 1 p.m. in Pershing Arena.
