Wrestling Cruises Past Hannibal-LaGrange For Seventh Win

HANNIBAL, Mo. – The Truman Wrestling team had little trouble in winning their dual with Hannibal-LaGrange on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs downed the home Trojans 42-9 to improve to 7-8 this season.

The Bulldogs raced out to an 18-0 advantage as the Trojans were open at both 125 and 141 giving JJ Dorrell and Rafael Lopez walkover wins. Caleb Osborn scored a first period pinfall win at 133.

HLG got on the scoreboard when Josh Nidever scored a tech fall win over Ethan Rentschler at 149.

The Trojans were also open at 157 and 165 to put Truman up 30-5. Brandon Petit won in extra time at 174 and Ashton Mutuwa and Austin Dovin were both victorious in the two final weight classes.

Truman will face two of the top five teams in Division II when they resume conference dual action this weekend. The Bulldogs head to the St. Louis area to face #3 Maryville on Friday night and #5 McKendree on Saturday.
