RECAP: Truman Tennis Opens Home Season Against Missouri Valley

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Tennis Teams played in front of the home crowd for the first time this fall as they hosted Missouri Valley College in a men's and women's dual.

The women lost 4-3 on matches played on the court. The Vikings brought five players so they were open at number three doubles and number six singles.

Lindsey Schlichting and Maura Dunn won number one doubles by a score of 8-2 but MVC took the second doubles match 8-4.
Schlichting downed Michele Bader in number one with a 7-6, 6-4 score.

Alexandra Rogers won at number four singles in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.

Dunn battled Nicole Stanznicky to a tough three-set match. Both players won by 7-6 scores in the first two sets with Dunn taking set two to force the tie breaker. Stanznicky held on for the 10-7 win to take number two.

The men lost 9-0 to an international squad from Missouri Valley.

Nick Thiele won set number one in the four singles 6-1 but was dropped 7-6, 13-11 by Marius Castella in the only match that wasn't decided in straight sets.
The Bulldog women will play at the Missouri-St. Louis Tournament over the weekend while the men will square off against McKendree on Saturday.
