NOTES: Bulldogs Embark On Two-Match Road Trip

#19 McKendree/Southern Indiana

The Bulldogs will take to the road for a pair of GLVC matches starting with a rematch from last year's NCAA regional game against McKendree on Friday evening.

The Bulldogs and Bearcats squared off three times in the 2016 season with Truman winning the first match 1-0 in a game that kicked off at 7:30 a.m. after being delayed to weather the night before. Laura Ney scored the goal with nine minutes remaining.

In the semifinals of the GLVC tournament, the Bearcats and Bulldogs played to a 0-0 draw during regulation but McKendree advanced to the finals with a 4-1 score on penalties.

A week later, Truman ended McKendree's season in the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 win. Freshman Hanna Burke scored three minutes into the game.

McKendree is 5-1-1 in conference play and 7-1-1 overall. They fell for the first time on Sunday against league-leader Quincy 1-0 on the road. The Bearcats are led by one of the top scorers in Division II in junior Sydnee Carroll. The McKendree forward tallied 18 goals and five assists last season and has scored six times with five helpers this year.

The second leg of the road trip will take the Bulldogs to Evansville and a match with the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles. USI is 4-2-4 overall and 2-1-4 in the GLVC. They have drawn even in four of their last five league games and will host Quincy on Friday night.

The two teams met in the GLVC Tournament in Kirksville with Truman advancing 2-0. Allison Lockett scored with under eight minutes left to play and Hanna Burke added an insurance goal with under four left. Truman pounded 24 shots to USI's three. The Bulldogs are 7-1-1 all-time against USI.
