RECAP: Wrestlers Come Back To Pick Up 21-14 Win Over Graceland In Home Finale

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Wrestling team won the final five matches to turn a 14-3 deficit into a 21-14 victory over Graceland (Iowa) on Senior Night in Pershing Arena.

Senior J.J. Dorrell got things off on a positive note as he won 7-3 in the opening match over Kruz Adamson of the Yellowjackets. However, Graceland would win the next four bouts, two my major decision to grab the 14-3 lead.

Senior Dustin McClintock was awarded a forfeit win and six crucial points at 165 to start the Truman comeback. Brandon Petit edged out Dakota Britt at 174 by a 2-1 score to pull Truman to within two team points 14-12.

Jules Joseph's then outlasted Matt Victor for a 7-3 decision to give the Bulldogs the lead.

Sam Reeves picked up some early points and was able to fend off Ryan Paige for three more Truman points in a 10-5 decision at 197.

With a four-point lead heading into the 285-pound match, Ashton Mutuwa squared off against Will Samuels. Mutuwa came into the match weighing in nearly 80 less than his opponent but was able to use his quickness and score a 3-2 decision over Samuels.

The Bulldogs improve to 8-13 in duals this season and will have a tough test on Sunday competing in the Lombardi Duals hosted by Maryville University. Truman will wrestle against five Division II teams, four of which are ranked in the Top 25.
