RECAP: Season Ends For Truman Tennis In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Truman Tennis Teams had their season come to a close in a pair of conference losses to Drury University on Saturday.

Before the dual with the league-leading Panthers, the women played Evangel (Mo.) University in a non-conference dual on Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs were able to edge Evangel 5-4.

Truman trailed 2-1 after doubles with Marisa Thome and Lindsey Schlichting picking up another victory at number two by a score of 8-3.

In singles, Thome and Schlichting led the charge with individual wins at two and three singles respectively. Thome on 6-3, 6-2 and Schlichting won 6-1, 6-2.

Elise Mousseau won at number four 6-4, 6-2 and Maura Dunn got the clincher with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 win at number five.

On Saturday, the nationally ranked Panthers took down the Bulldogs by the same 9-0 scores in each match.
