RECAP: Quincy Blanks Bulldogs In League Opener

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy Lady Hawks took the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener over the Truman Bulldogs 2-0 on Friday night. The Bulldogs will play their first match at home on Sunday against Illinois Springfield at 2:30 p.m.

Quincy outshot the Bulldogs 12-4 and 7-2 on goal. The Bulldogs did not register a shot in the first half.

In the 31^st minute, Maddie Bauer fed Mary Maloney for a give-and-go and Maloney beat Katie Mattingly from five yards out for the 1-0 lead.

The Lady Hawks added an insurance goal in the 65^th as Katie Heiligenstein ripped a shot in the upper left corner off a pass from Mackenzie Rief.

Laura Ney and Amelia Coyne had the shots on goal for the Bulldogs.
