KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State University volleyball team is heading to its most important tournament of the regular season and it comes in the form of the Midwest Region Crossover. Normally held in Aurora, Ill. at the Great Lakes Center, this year, it has been moved to The Academy Volleyball Club in Indianapolis, Ind. The Bulldogs, seeded fourth out of the GLVC, will face the GLIAC's two seed, Michigan Tech, GLIAC's four seed, Saginaw Valley State, and the G-MAC's three seed, Tiffin.

Scouting Report - No. 25 Michigan Tech
In its seventh year with Matt Jennings at the helm, Michigan Tech has been one of the best teams in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Back on Oct. 1, the No. 25 Huskies earned their first ranking inside the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) since 2001 and stayed put in that spot this week. Michigan Tech has won six matches in a row, 11 of its last 12 and owns a record of 13-2 away from home. Two of the Huskies' three losses have come in five sets and the most recent of those three was to No. 5 Ferris State (Sept. 15), the top team in the league, in four sets. That setback represents Michigan Tech's only home defeat.

Scouting Report - Saginaw Valley State
Staying in the GLIAC, Saginaw Valley State is in year No. 14 under the tutelage of Will Stanton, and comes from the North Division of that conference, just like Michigan Tech. The Cardinals, winners of four-straight matches and six of their last seven, came up short in four of September's first six matches. In the head-to-head with Michigan Tech back on Sept. 7, Saginaw Valley State was swept on its own court. The Cardinals' three losses are split evenly as they are 3-1 at home, 7-1 in true road matches and 6-1 when playing in a neutral environment.

Scouting Report - Tiffin
Tiffin, competing in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) for the first year, is led by second-year head coach, Shauna Hurles. Hurles led the Dragons to a 19-12 campaign and an appearance in the GLIAC Tournament in 2017. The Dragons are currently second in the West Division of the G-MAC and own the second-best record in the league. Since dropping two matches in a row back on Sept. 28-29, Tiffin has won three straight. However, prior to that two-match skid, the Dragons had reeled off 11-straight victories to rebound from the season's 2-3 start.

2018 Midwest Region Crossover
Arguably the biggest regular-season event in all of NCAA volleyball, the Midwest Region Crossover is a two-day tournament that features 57 matches conducted on 10 courts throughout six sessions. This season, the marquee event will take place at one of the top volleyball facilities in the country, The Academy Volleyball Club in Indianapolis, Ind. The event is designed to increase competition between teams from the three leagues in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region.

Up Next
Following this event, Truman will come home for three matches in a row including Illinois Springfield on Friday, Oct. 19 (7 p.m.), McKendree on Saturday, Oct. 20 for High School Night (3 p.m.) and Rockhurst on Tuesday, Oct. 23 (7 p.m.).
