RECAP: Wrestling Hosts Drury & #3 UW-Parkside In GLVC Finale

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Wrestling team entertained Wisconsin Parkside and Drury in a Great Lakes Valley Conference triangular meet on Super Sunday.

The Bulldogs fell 57-0 to the #3-ranked Rangers in the opener then lost 32-18 to Drury in the nightcap.

Against the Panthers, Caleb Osborn picked up a win by decision over Zach McCullough 7-3.

Dakota Schutter turned a pinning situation against him to his advantage as he won by fall over Jordan Jones last in the first period. Schutter pinned Jones while looking up and Jones got stuck underneath trying to turn Schutter to his shoulders.

Shane Gallagher won by forfeit at 184 to pull Truman to within 11 points. Sam Reeves needed a pin to keep things going but had to settle for a 7-4 decision against Dylan Ballew. Truman went open at 285 giving Ben Melton the final six team points.

Truman will wrap up the regular season this week. They will have their final dual of the season on Thursday night at Graceland (Iowa) College. Saturday, Truman will be in Pella, Iowa for the Central College Last Chance Open.
