PELLA, Iowa – The Truman Wrestling team competed in the Central (Iowa) College Under Armour Invitational on Saturday in their first action since the holiday break.
 
Zach Williard competed in the 133-pound bracket. Williard lost his first match 8-6 to Isiah Lysius (Briar Cliff). He won his next by pinfall at the 2:20 mark over Mario Barrios (Waldorf) and was defeated in the consolation championship match by Nicholas Meling (Wartburg) 12-6.
 
Zach Taylor was pinned at the 1:43 mark by Jeremy Vester (Central) in his first match at 165. Taylor was defeated 5-1 by Cesar Salgado (Neosho County CC).
 
Vin Kriegshauser lost by fall in the second period to Chance Benadum (Central). In his next match, Kriegshauser lost to Jake Leicht (Briar Cliff) by pin at 4:06.
 
Shane Gallagher lost in the first period by pin to Gavin Babcock (Central). Christian Messick (Central) pinned Gallagher in 4:37 in the fifth place match.
 
The Bulldogs are scheduled to compete in a pair of duals at Hannibal-La Grange College on Monday. They will face the Trojans and Marian (Ind.).
