Chance Douglass Earns GLVC Women's Soccer Honors

INDIANAPOLIS - Chance Douglass scored a pair of goals and added an assist to lead the Truman Women's Soccer team to a pair of wins over the weekend and earn the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award.

Douglass had the game winning goal in Truman's 2-1 triumph over Drury on Friday. Hanna Burke fed Douglass at the top of the 18-yard box and her blast went off the crossbar then ricocheted off the back of the keeper into the net just over a minute into the second half.

She had the assist on the opening goal in the Bulldogs 4-0 win over Southwest Baptist on Sunday. Douglass played the corner kick into the middle of the field where Paige Peterson buried the ball into the net in the 27th minute for the 1-0 lead. Later in the second half, Chloe Hollander played a long ball up the field where Douglass was able to beat the defender and break free, she was able to slide the ball past the Bearcat keeper into the net for the insurance tally.

It is her first GLVC Offensive Player of the Week honor and she now joins keeper Beth Hopwood (Defensive) as the second Bulldog to earn a conference weekly award this season.
