KIRKSVILLE, Mo.—Following seven straight matches away from Kirksville, the Truman Volleyball team will return to Pershing Arena Friday as they take on William Jewell at 7 p.m. and follow by welcoming #19 Rockhurst on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
Lauren Wacker leads the GLVC in digs with 449, and in digs per set with 5.61. She has three 30-dig matches this season and with one more would tie the career program record of seven set by Abby Moser. She also is second in 20 dig matches with 51 over the course of her career. She trails Moser by two in that category. As a team, the Bulldogs are second the GLVC with 17.64 digs per set. Ellie Kaat leads the team in points per set with 3.65 and kills per set with 3.27; and has double digit kills in five of the last seven matches.
All-time the Bulldogs are 11-1 against William Jewell, with ten meetings coming since 2013. Of those ten meetings, Truman has won nine of them with eight sweeps. Maddie Wingert leads the team with 213 kills while Tori Vogt leads them with 2.76 kills per set. As a team the Cardinals are third in the GLVC in blocks per set with 2.2, led by Elizabeth Quinn with 1.38 per set.
Truman has not defeated Rockhurst since October of 2014 and is riding a nine match losing streak to the Hawks. They enter the match ranked 19 in the AVCA poll, and are 20-6 overall and 8-1 in GLVC play (as of 10/31). Mary Rolf leads the GLVC in hitting percentage at .379% and Karli Reichert is second in the GLVC with 3.92 kills per set and 4.4 points per set. Joining her in the top ten in points per set is Alyssa Woodman at 3.79, which ranks ninth in the conference. As a team, Rockhurst is only allowing opponents a .143 hitting percentage while they lead the conference with a .270 attacking percentage.
After these two matches, the team will go on the road to play a non-conference match at Quincy next Tuesday and then resume conference play at Missouri-St. Louis and Lindenwood next weekend.
