RECAP: Two Old Rivals Meet In Pershing Wednesday Night

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Two old rivals from the days of the Missouri and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association met in Pershing Arena on Wednesday night. It was the University of Central Missouri defeating the Truman Wrestling team 35-15.

Truman won four of the six contested matches. Freshman Zach Williard led 6-2 early but John Feeney rallied with a takedown in the third period to tie the match at nine apiece. Williard wasted little time and was able to get the one-point escape and hold on for the 10-9 win at 133.

Caleb Osborn was pinned with 35 seconds left in the second period by Dakota Thevel at 149 and Nate Wunderlich lost by tech fall 17-0 to Austin Morgan at 157.

Zach Taylor dug in and scored a 5-4 decision win with a third period takedown over Central's Cole Hatfield.

Freshman Vin Kriegshauser was down 6-1 entering the third period against Ben Gadbois and took the top position to start. Kriegshauser worked around and was able to pin Gabbois 29 seconds into the third for the win.

Sam Reeves was solid at 197 and posted a 7-0 victory over Martin Brunett of the Mules.
