EAST PEORIA, Ill. - Three appearances, three wins and a perfect 0.00 ERA in 17 and two-thirds innings pitched.
Alyssa Hajduk (pictured) has put the Truman State University softball team on her back as the Bulldogs picked up their second win of the day. The Purple and White eliminated Drury, 7-4, from the GLVC Tournament and are now facing No. 12 Indianapolis for a chance to play on Championship Sunday against top-seeded Missouri-St. Louis.
Against the Panthers, Hajduk (16-5) gave up just two hits in five and two-thirds frames with three walks and five strikeouts. In relief,
Lauren Dale handled the final inning and a third with four runs allowed, three earned, on five hits. Offensively, the Bulldogs scored in four of the six innings that they came to the plate including one run in the first, one in the second, four in the third, and another in the fourth.
Eight different players for Truman earned a hit including two a piece from right fielder,
Adrienne Compton, in the five hole and catcher,
Lauren Bowman, in the seven hole. In fact, Bowman is hitting .545 (6-for-11) so far in the GLVC Tournament with two runs scored and two RBI to raise her average to .309.
