ROLLA, Mo.—The Truman Men's Swimming team returned to action Friday as they took on the Miners of Missouri S&T. Ultimately the Bulldogs fell to the Miners 122-71.
After the meet, coach Jerod Simek said: "The men swam very tired since coming off our winter training in Palm Beach but were able to step up and put up some times. We've had a lot of sickness and flu going around the team so with only 2/3 of our roster it was a good meet."
The team got key performances out of John Breen in the 200 meter freestyle in which he came in first place with a time of 1:45.92 and in the 400 medley relay from Brenden Harris, Mark Franz, Michael Franz and Lliot Gieseke with a winning time of 3:29.28. Michael Franz finished second in the 100 yard freestyle as well with a time of 48:45.
Truman also got a win in the 400 yard freestyle relay from Jack McCormick, Grant Lair, Breen and Gieseke who had a time of 3:16.36.
The Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow as the men and women's teams will take on Washington University at noon.
