(KIRKSVILLE, Mo.) – A goal with less than two minutes to play in the first half by sophomore forward Olivia Hayes sealed a 1-0 Truman women's soccer win against Missouri Southern on Saturday afternoon at the Truman Soccer Park.

Hayes notched her team-leading fifth goal of the year off an MSSU turnover in their own 18-yard box, as freshman Hayley Bollwerk picked up a bouncing ball and fed it through to the cutting Hayes. She then found pay-dirt for the game's only score.

Freshman keeper Emily Bozdeck logged her second shutout of the week, stopping two Lions shots to help move the 'Dogs to 7-2-4 overall (6-1-4 MIAA) with five matches remaining in the regular season.

The Bulldogs took 13 shots and earned seven corner kicks to ten and four respectively for MSSU (3-6-4, 3-4-4 MIAA).

Truman will next host Southwest Baptist University on Thurs., Oct. 21 at 2 pm in Kirksville.
