(KIRKSVILLE) – Sophomore Olivia Hayes dished out three assists to three different goal scorers, as the Truman women's soccer team picked up a key 3-0 victory against Southwest Baptist on Thursday afternoon at the Bulldog Soccer Park.
Junior Jaclyn Schumann (Wauconda, Ill., Wauconda) got the Bulldogs (8-2-4, 7-1-4 MIAA) on the board in the 11th minute, firing a shot from nearly 35-yards out into the top corner of the net. Schumann's Goal:
Then, in the 40th minute, freshman Kristina Weishar (Kansas City, Mo., Notre Dame de Sion) logged her first collegiate goal after Hayes delivered a pass to senior Danielle Hill (Geneva, Ill., Geneva). Weishar's Goal:
Junior Megan Buri (Parkville, Mo., Park Hill South) then scored her fourth goal of the season, as Bystrom and Hayes teamed up again to find Buri open in front of the net. For the match, Truman out-shot the Bearcats, 26-22, and held a 16-10 advantage in shots on goal.
