KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - The No. 11 Truman volleyball squad bounced back from its first home loss of the season and caught fire on offense, hitting .367 in a 3-0 (-17, -17, -23) sweep of Pittsburg (Kan.) State on Saturday evening. Junior Molly Sinclair led all players with 13 kills and coupled that with ten digs for a double-double.

The Bulldogs (23-5, 12-4 MIAA) were in full control of sets one and two, hitting .425 in both to cruise to 25-17 wins. But in the third set, PSU (10-17, 3-12 MIAA) had the 'Dogs on the ropes, leading 19-13, before an 8-2 Truman run tied the score at 21 apiece. After the Gorillas scored two straight to lead by two again, Truman rattled off the final four points of the match – including a rocket by sophomore Megan Sharpe for her tenth kill on match point – to end the night in three sets and close the weekend with a win.

Sinclair (St. Louis, Mo., Ursuline Academy) and Sharpe (Edwardsville, Ill., Edwardsville) were joined in double-figures offensively by senior Allison Barker (Racine, Wis., Racine Lutheran), who matched Sinclair's double-double with 13 digs of her own. Senior Casey Bruno (Pearland, Texas, Lutheran South) remained on her current defensive tear, totaling 21 digs in just the three sets. She also was credited with a pair of kills on the evening, tying a career-high.

Senior Ashley Petak (Omaha, Neb., Bellevue West), the third Truman senior recognized before the match, also made her mark, leading all players with 26 assists, while adding seven digs and a kill.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday (Nov. 3) night when 7th-ranked Central Missouri visits Pershing Arena for the final home match of the regular season. First serve is set for 7 pm.
