Box Score | Season Stats

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - - The Truman women's soccer team was defeated, 3-0, by the University of Central Missouri in the NCAA tournament second round on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs finished the season 11-4-5 and reached the tournament for the ninth time in program history.

After the two squads played a relatively even 44 minutes to start the contest, UCM (19-0) broke the scoreless tie with 46 seconds left before the intermission when Aaryn Burke headed in a cross from Sarah Hotop to put the Jennies ahead, 1-0.

The Jennies then scored two more goals in a five-minute span early in the second half, as Cara Hennahane and Alyssa Rhodes each snuck a shot into the net for a 3-0 UCM advantage.

The Bulldogs took seven shots with six in the first half and were led by freshman Suzanne Pelley's five (two on net). Sophomore Olivia Hayes and freshman Hannah Luerding each put one shot on goal.

Freshman keeper Emily Bozdeck made three saves in net for the 'Dogs, who saw three of their four losses this season come against UCM.

The Bulldogs won ten matches for the 16th straight season in the program and had six players named to all-MIAA squads. The team has just two seniors – Beth Bystrom and Danielle Hill – and will return all 11 starters for next season.
